We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to prepare and process import documentation while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Your Profile- High school diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 1-3 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, classification, and import entry procedures.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated team player who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
- Prepare and submit customs entries for air, ocean, and ground shipments in compliance with CBP regulations.
- Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accurate duty and tax assessments.
- Review commercial documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading, for accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate with customers, carriers, and government agencies to resolve documentation and import compliance issues.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely customs clearance, release, and delivery.
- Maintain accurate entry records and correspondence in accordance with CBP audit requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support efficient import operations.
- Stay informed of changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
