Maintenance Engineer

Join E.M.A. Hospitality to be part of our Engineering team at [Hotel Name] in [City, State]. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will perform preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting across all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure a safe and functional environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance
    • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
    • Perform maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems according to established schedules and procedures.
    • Keep accurate records of all activities and report deficiencies to the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritizing tasks by urgency and importance.
    • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, lighting fixtures, water leaks and other mechanical/electrical/plumbing problems.
    • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes and company policies.
    • Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste disposal.
    • Participate in regular safety training and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor inventory levels of supplies, tools and equipment, reordering items as needed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
    • Assist with inventory audits and asset tracking.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office and other departments to address maintenance issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate activities.
    • Provide assistance and support to other engineering team members.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management or related field.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
