Controller - Manufacturing (Cost Accounting Focus) Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic and hands‑on Controller with strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. This role will lead financial reporting, manage accounting operations, and oversee cost controls, inventory, and financial processes. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment while managing accounting teams and supporting business decision‑making.

• Manage all financial reporting activities including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and reporting metrics.
• Support audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for cost accounting.
• Track and analyze manufacturing costs and product costing.
• Monitor inventory accounting and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Recommend cost control strategies and operational improvements.
• Provide financial insights to support manufacturing and operational decisions.
• Support capital investment and business case evaluations.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Manage team performance, training, and development.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Support finance leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives.

• Maintain strong understanding of financial reporting systems and ERP platforms.
• Support ERP system usage and training (Epicor experience preferred).
• Ensure accuracy of financial data and account reconciliations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-10 years of accounting experience.
• Strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing financial reporting and general ledger activities.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong system proficiency.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

• CPA certification.
• Master's degree.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
• Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or data modeling tools.
• Experience supporting inventory and manufacturing operations.
