Construction Controller

Some Controller roles are about keeping the books. This one is about helping build the business.

We're partnering with a well-established construction company in Central New Jersey seeking a hands‑on Construction Controller to work closely with the COO and leadership team. This is more than a financial reporting role—you'll help drive profitability, improve operations, and influence key business decisions.

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting
• Own WIP schedules, job costing, percentage of completion accounting, and revenue recognition
• Partner with project managers to monitor job profitability and forecasting
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, cash flow, and the accounting team
• Strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and support budgeting and strategic planning

• Strong construction accounting experience
• Expertise in WIP reporting, job costing, and percentage of completion accounting
• Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
• Collaborative leader who enjoys partnering with operations
• CPA preferred
