$20/hr - $23/hr
Position OverviewThe Payroll Associate is responsible for supporting payroll operations by processing employee payroll data accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. This role works closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and dealership management teams to maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and support employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Associate- Process weekly and/or biweekly payroll for employees accurately and on schedule.
- Review timekeeping records, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with payroll audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and direct deposit.
- Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, benefits, and status changes.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll‑related accounts as needed.
- Support year‑end payroll activities, including W‑2 processing and reporting.
- Ensure accurate data entry and documentation within payroll and HRIS systems.
- Assist with process improvements and administrative support projects as assigned.
- 1–3 years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of payroll laws, wage calculations, and tax with holdings.
- Experience with ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar payroll systems.
- Automotive dealership or multi‑location payroll experience preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll reporting tools.
- Knowledge of commission‑based payroll structures.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
