Finance and Accounting Assistant; part-time

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is hiring a part-time Finance and Accounting Assistant for the Mason Gross School of the Arts. The role involves preparing various financial transactions, reconciling expenditures, maintaining financial tracking databases, generating financial reports, and coordinating with administrative offices to resolve financial and operational issues.

• Prepare financial transactions including procurement, journal entries, project cost adjustments, and payroll.
• Reconcile expenditures and commitments and maintain financial tracking database.
• Prepare and distribute recurring financial reports.
• Serve as a liaison with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Procurement, and other administrative offices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
• Requires understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Requires at least two years of relevant experience.
• Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour.
• Part-time position with 19.5 hours per week and a fully on-site work arrangement.
