Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all estimating and budget development to include:
    • Unit quantity estimates and pricing of the work for entire project
    • Soliciting vendors (RFP’s) and subcontractors for proposals for the construction work
    • Reviewing plans to develop and clarify scope of work
    • Reviewing and comparing the scope of work and pricing for the vendor proposals
    • Negotiating subcontractor agreements
    • Reviewing & negotiating change order requests
    • Preparing monthly construction draw requests
    • Developing historical cost data base
  • Additional responsibilities to include:
    • Complete material and labor unit quantity takeoffs using corporate guidelines
    • Analyze quantity takeoffs and unit costs for all trades including site work and vertical construction.
    • Understand unit costing and quantity estimating of construction materials.
    • Assist in the feasibility, value engineering, bidding, and contracting process.
    • Assist the Senior Project Manager in creating contractor bid packages for the projects.
    • Assist in the negotiations of pricing and quantities with multiple contractors to obtain the best pricing for the highest quality materials and services.
    • Conduct unit costs analysis.
    • Develop a unit cost data base.

Skills/

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction management, architecture or engineering preferred, but not required
  • Highly organized with strict attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Computer proficiency, experience with Timberline a plus
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Ability to process requests quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and self-starter
  • Deadline driven
