Job Description & How to Apply Below

We're seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead construction projects (multifamily and Class A tenant fit outs) for our expanding portfolio in Middlesex County, NJ. We are an owner/developer with a history of building and managing our own portfolio, giving our superintendents the opportunity to work directly with decision makers instead of navigating layers of bureaucracy.

You'll probably enjoy this role if you like running a jobsite, solving problems before they become crises, holding subcontractors accountable, and working directly with ownership.

The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years of general construction experience. The ideal candidate can effectively lead all trades throughout the project lifecycle, approaches each project with an owner's mindset, and is comfortable using Procore, Microsoft Office, smartphones and tablets.

Location: This is a full-time onsite position based in the Woodbridge, NJ area. Candidates should live within approximately a 45 minute commute.

Compensation: $135,000-$160,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus discretionary bonus, cell phone allowance, company laptop, paid time off, health insurance, and additional benefits.

You'll typically oversee one project at a time, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, managing inspections, enforcing safety standards, reviewing shop drawings, resolving field issues, and delivering high-quality projects on schedule.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead all day-to-day onsite construction activities from project start through completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to maintain quality, productivity, and schedule.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite while ensuring compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure work is completed according to plan.
  • Coordinate inspections with municipal officials and project consultants.
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget.
  • Communicate project progress, scheduling updates, and potential challenges with the Project Manager and ownership.
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Foster strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and inspectors.
  • Deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to Wick’s quality standards.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent overseeing commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing subcontractor performance.
  • Working knowledge of Procore and Microsoft Office; comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and digital construction documents.
  • Strong understanding of New Jersey building codes, safety requirements, and construction practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the project team.
  • Experience working for an owner/developer is a plus.
