Job Overview

As an Automation Control Engineer you will participate in the Hardware/Software Controls development utilized on packaging equipment, process equipment, and high speed applications. You will be responsible for significant contributions to the installation and start‑up of new equipment along with troubleshooting existing equipment. You must be self‑driven, quick to learn and able to perform in a very dynamic work environment, balancing a wide variety of projects and work activities.

What

you will do
  • Install and troubleshoot control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on high speed packaging lines, process equipment, and lab equipment.
  • Develop, collaborate on and review wiring diagrams and logic for new equipment, field retrofits, and upgrades.
  • Provide support for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize excellent troubleshooting skills with a hands‑on approach to identify root cause and define solution.
  • Research and analyze data for specifications, feasibility studies, and productivity improvements.

Total Rewards
  • Salary Range: $70,500 – $105,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors.
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility:
    Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement.
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 3 – 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Moderate experience in the engineering, design and development of manufacturing equipment for high volume, high speed, high precision assembly operation and complex industrial systems.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products and National Instruments.
  • Programming knowledge of Rockwell Automation RSLogix 5000 and FTView M/E and SE.
  • Knowledge of VFD and Servo drives (AB Powerflex and Kinetix).
  • General knowledge of PID loops and process control concepts.
  • General knowledge of motion control concepts and robotics.
  • Experience in food or consumer goods packaging industries.
  • SQL Server Database knowledge and Visual Basic Programming.
  • Experience with machine vision.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
