Job Description
PHASE Associates is currently seeking an Industrial hygienist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS, Industrial hygiene, exposure monitoring, and Indoor Air Quality surveys to join our team in Livingston, New Jersey. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct industrial hygiene surveys for ventilation, noise dosimetry, process evaluation, risk assessments, evaluation of inventory controls. Possible airborne exposure monitoring, illumination, and IAQ measurement may have to be taken.
- Investigate and sample for mold/water intrusions.
- Order sampling equipment/sampling media and filling out chain of custody.
- Prepare reports summarizing findings, data interpretation, and recommendations to improve work conditions.
- Develop safety written programs, job hazard analysis and standard operating procedures.
- Complete and submit timesheet, expense report, field reports, etc. on a timely basis.
- Operate and maintain instruments including velocity meters, noise dosimeters, sound level meters, sampling pumps, direct read instruments, etc.
- Conduct respirator fit testing using qualitative or quantitative methods.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry or Engineering, or related field from a four-year accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS, IAQ, industrial hygiene, required.
- Previous experience working for the government or state, preferred.
- Experience conducting industrial hygiene surveys; indoor air Quality (IAQ), noise monitoring.
- Experience operating industrial hygiene instruments and equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulation and other federal, state, and local health and safety, and environmental regulations such as ACGIH and NIOSH is essential.
- Bilingual or multilingual, a plus.
- Must be comfortable working independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to clients and to meet report deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- 25% out of state travel throughout the United States
- Valid Driver's License, required.
