About the Job
The VP, Cyber Security Operations will oversee the development and implementation of security strategies and ensure the protection of organizational assets within the financial services industry. This leadership role is ideal for a technology professional with a strong background in cybersecurity and a passion for safeguarding digital infrastructure.
Client DetailsThis role is with a well-established organization in the financial services industry operating at a large scale, known for its focus on innovation and maintaining robust technology systems.
Description- Lead and manage the cyber security operations team to ensure the organization's systems, networks, and data are protected.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with industry standards.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and thorough documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate risks across technology platforms.
- Oversee security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments to maintain system integrity.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging threats and recommend proactive measures to enhance the cybersecurity posture.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on the status of cybersecurity initiatives and metrics.
Must Haves:
- 7+ years’ experience in security operations and/or incident response type roles, including 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Knowledge of incident handling lifecycle based on an established framework: ISO 27035, SANS, NIST SP 800-61, CERT, ENISA.
- Proven track record with SIEM technologies including Splunk, with accompanying certifications preferred (e.g., Splunk Certified Cybersecurity Defence Analyst).
- Experience with security and automation in hybrid native environments.
Nice to Haves:
- Security certifications such as CISSP and at least one GIAC GCIH, GSEC, GCFA, GCIA, GREM, GCFR or equivalent is preferred.
- Financial Services background.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $150,000 to $200,000, depending on experience.
