our client is currently seeking a qualified field technician to join their team in cherryhill, nj and provide end-user support. Candidates must have reliable transportation, clean mvr, and a valid driver’s license.
the field technician provides onsite and remote technical support, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for laser printers, wide-format printers/plotters, pos systems, kiosks, computer hardware, and related technology solutions. This role supports many different types of clienteles, ensuring critical business systems operate efficiently and reliably while delivering exceptional customer service. The technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware, software, and electro‑mechanical issues involving laser printers, wide-format printers/plotters, pos systems, kiosks, computers, and peripherals.
dutiesand responsibilities
- install, configure, maintain, and upgrade supported equipment and applications
- perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to maximize system performance and uptime
- provide professional technical support onsite, clearly communicating issues and resolutions to customers
- document service activities, system configurations, repairs, and upgrades while maintaining compliance with company standards
- install and support restaurant technology solutions, applying knowledge of front‑of‑house, kitchen, and back‑office operations
- order and replace parts as needed to resolve equipment failures
- perform light contractor work, including drilling, mounting hardware, cabling, and equipment installation
- train employees on the proper use of supported systems and equipment
- recommend appropriate products, services, and technology solutions based on customer needs
- manage multiple service calls independently while adhering to established procedures and service expectations
- participate in evening support and on‑call rotations as required
- experience troubleshooting and repairing laser printers and wide‑format printers/plotters
- experience supporting pos systems, computer hardware, and related technologies preferred
- working knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, and basic networking concepts
- strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- willingness to travel between customer locations
the rate for this position is between $17.25 - $23.00 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
