Overview
Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics company (3PL) headquartered in Memphis, TN has an immediate opening for a Logistics Professional to join our team!
We are seeking a Project Cargo Coordinator to manage complex domestic and international shipments, including oversized and turnkey project cargo. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Account & Project Duties
- Monitor day-to-day execution of assigned customer accounts and project shipments
- Track project milestones and ensure all deadlines are met
- Escalate and resolve high-risk or high-cost operational issues
- Customer Communication & Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for routine customer inquiries
- Communicate shipment status, delays, and operational updates to customers
- Provide documentation and shipment updates upon request
- Assist with quoting and customer rate support
- Operations & Transportation Coordination
- Schedule carriers and truckers for pickups and deliveries
- Assign loads to carriers and owner-operators
- Manage terminal pickups, equipment returns, and free-time tracking
- Coordinate special equipment requirements
- Manage delivery appointments and route planning
- Confirm ETAs and PODs
- Track shipments and monitor layover and detention issues
- Resolve day-of-operation issues and exceptions
- Warehouse & Transloading Coordination
- Coordinate unloading, transloading, and load-out activities
- Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and review shipping documents, including BLs, packing lists, and arrival notices
- Prepare and submit ISF, customs, and regulatory documentation
- Review BL accuracy and compliance requirements
- Coordinate with customs brokers and government agencies as needed
- Financial & Billing Support
- Review carrier and vendor invoices for accuracy and approval
- Validate demurrage, detention, storage, and other accessorial charges
- Support accurate customer billing and dispute resolution
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field preferred but not required.
- 5-7 years' experience in Project Cargo handling and logistics
- Proficient in Cargowise
- Strong knowledge of international and domestic transportation modes
- Understanding of import/export regulations and customs compliance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to travel locally and nationally as required for customer/project coverage.
Pay Rate: $28.85–$31.25/hour, commensurate with experience. The role also includes a comprehensive benefits package, which covers medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
