Supervisor, Ocean Export

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the ocean export department
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies
• Supervise a team of ocean export freight forwarders
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and shipment delays
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, trucking companies, and other service providers
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the company's transportation management system
• Provide guidance and training to team members on export regulations and procedures
• Prepare reports and metrics related to export operations
• Supervise a team of ocean export coordinators

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ocean export operations, including experience in a supervisory role
• In-depth knowledge of export regulations and customs procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems is required
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Customs Broker (CCB) designation preferred
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems may be preferred
• Knowledge of export regulations and procedures for other transportation modes (air, land) preferred
