• Set up and maintain new projects in accounting and project management systems, ensuring accurate financial and project information.
• Partner with Project Managers on project budgets, cost coding, forecasting, and financial tracking.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, change orders, revenue, and overall financial performance.
• Process approved change orders and ensure accurate, timely customer billing.
• Manage the full billing cycle, including AIA, progress, lump-sum, T&M, and final/closeout invoices.
• Review contracts to ensure billing aligns with payment terms, schedules, and project requirements.
• Maintain billing records in Sage Intacct and customer billing portals.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with customers on outstanding payments.
• Prepare lien waivers, affidavits, and other required billing documentation.
• Coordinate with AP to ensure vendor and subcontractor costs are accurately recorded and allocated.
• Lead regular billing meetings with Project Managers and Operations to address billing and collection issues.
• Maintain project documentation and support project closeout activities.
• Prepare WIP schedules, billing reports, AR aging reports, and collection updates.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, financial analysis, and resolution of billing discrepancies.

• 4+ years of project accounting experience in construction; job costing experience preferred.
• AS or BS degree preferred but not required
• Strong in Excel and preferably additional construction systems (Procor, Sage, etc.)
