JOB SUMMARY

This position assists teachers with the planning and integration of technology in academic settings, trains teachers to use technology in an effective manner, and assists with curriculum development as it relates to educational technology. This position collaborates on an ongoing basis with the school Technical Support Specialist (TSSPEC); this professional partnership is critical to the success of technology implementation and integration.

This position is responsible for modeling instructional strategies, providing training and professional development to staff, supports curriculum, and performs similar kinds of duties and responsibilities as the School Division/Building Administrator deems appropriate. This position must demonstrate the professional ability and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with school personnel and members of the community.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess and deliver professional learning needs of individuals, teams, schools regarding effective implementation of Universal Design for Learning, teaching PWCS Profile of a Graduate, ISTE standards.
  • Design and facilitate projects, courses, workshops, seminars, training in alignment with strategic plans, school goals, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Develop collaborative professional relationships with colleagues, faculty, administrators, and staff across offices as necessary.
  • Serve as liaison between CIO and Office of Teaching and Learning programs and initiatives, schools, and other offices.
  • Provide coaching to support use of data in development of technical assistance plans and monitoring strategy implementation by school administration and instructional coaches.
  • Participate in professional associations, conferences, training to maintain knowledge of current trends, research, and effective practice.
  • Support administrators and teachers to improve and sustain student achievement through coaching, modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, observations with feedback, facilitation of teacher reflection.
  • Analyze disaggregated student learning results from various data sources and use data about participant gains to determine professional learning needs.
  • Maintain frequent contacts and provide assistance to new teachers, lead mentors, mentors, and teacher leaders.
  • Support delivery of ongoing professional learning aligned with Division priorities and standards.
  • Facilitate professional learning experiences in various modes and settings, using engaging resources and strategies.
  • Provide job-embedded learning focused on technology integration to instruction via coaching, co-teaching, modeling lessons, sharing ideas, school-wide demonstrations, co-planning.
  • Develop and deliver professional learning introducing educators to technology integration methods, materials, instructional strategies proven to increase student achievement.
  • Lead educators in integrating technology effectively for differentiated instruction, assessing student learning, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning for all students.
  • Model and promote PWCS Profile of a Graduate skills and knowledge including critical thinking, digital citizenship, innovation, resilience, global collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND BEHAVIORS
  • Leadership qualities, presentation, facilitation, organizational skills, and personal characteristics to work effectively with teachers, students, administrators, parents, and the community.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning needs and experience in designing and delivering effective professional learning experiences to adults.
  • Knowledge of instructional leadership skills to include coaching individuals and teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to formulate ideas and communicate them effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of educational philosophy, research, methods and techniques of instruction, professional learning standards, current educational issues, cultural competence, and Division priorities.
