Early Intervention Assistant (Clinical Services Caseworker Associate)

The Infant and Toddler Connection (ITC) of Greater Prince William is seeking a full-time Early Intervention Assistant to join our team of early intervention professionals who provide specialized services to eligible infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. Our EI Assistants provide direct services to children and families to help them achieve their outcomes, providing services in their natural environment, during their daily activities and routines while using the coaching style of interaction to build their family's capacity to support their infants' and toddlers' development;

provide education to staff and families to empower them to help their infants' and toddlers' progress with developmental skills. Collaborate with a diverse team of EI Specialists and Service Coordinators to provide excellent services to the infants and toddlers in our community. Perform related work as required.

Prince William County Community Services is located within easy commuting distance from Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

This position qualifies for a $5,000 hiring bonus. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments. The first installment of $2,500 will be paid after you have completed 90 days of employment. The final $2,500 installment will be disbursed upon successful completion of the probationary period.

About this role:

• Have EI experience, with home and community visits, 2 or more years working with birth to 3-year-olds with special needs and their families.
• Have strong knowledge of typical and atypical development in birth to 3-year-olds with a focus on general infant and toddler development, as well as knowledge to support interactions between family members/family dynamics.
• Effective communication skills with families, colleagues, and other professionals.
• Are conscientious and detail-oriented.
• Have strong organizational skills and time management skills to independently schedule their client visits.
• Document in a timely and organized manner in our Electronic Health Records.
• Know community and professional resources to support families.
• Follow Part C practices outlined in the Practice manual, including the Primary Service Provider model and experience with the coaching style of interaction.

Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, with 2 years' experience with the birth to 3-year-old population
• Must have or be eligible for Part C Certification.

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood special education, social work, psychology, counseling, or a related behavioral science field
• Spanish speaking preferred/not required.
• Previous Part C experience preferred/not required.

Special requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a DMV record check
• Must pass TB test
• Must pass and maintain first aid and CPR certification
• Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint-based National Criminal History Record Check
• Child Protective Services Requirements:
  Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, 12VA rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglect maintained by the Department of Social Services

Work schedule:

Monday-Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm.

Hiring salary range: $70,921.50 - $97,968.00
