An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
7.0 hours/day
Candidates for this position must be Highly Qualified through one of the following:
Have obtained an Associate's degree, or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
Completed a minimum of 48 college credits from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
Passed the Para Pro assessment with a minimum score of 455. Documentation of test score must be submitted.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position involves paraprofessional work that requires the teacher assistant to assist the classroom teacher in providing individualized instruction to students whose first language is not English. The assistant performs a variety of tasks and helps carry out instruction as directed by the classroom teacher. The assistant performs work at the direction of the teacher, building administrator, and appropriate supervisor of English Learner (EL) instruction.
The employee must interact positively with students, parents, and staff.
