The Prince William County Police Department is seeking a qualified, energetic individual to fill the position of Senior Human Services Specialist.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support services to crime victims and witnesses. The candidate will be expected to review multiple police reports—some of which may contain graphic content—to assess and address the needs of crime victims. The candidate will act as a liaison among victims, law enforcement personnel, legal professionals, medical providers, advocacy services, the commonwealth attorney’s office, and community-based agencies to coordinate care and streamline communication.
The candidate will play a key role in reducing the impact of victimization, fostering interagency collaboration, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the criminal justice system. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records and documentation, preparing departmental reports, and assisting with both internal and external victim services training programs. They will ensure victims are kept informed, supported, and empowered throughout the investigative and judicial processes, while also promoting public awareness and education regarding victims’ rights and available resources.
The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background, as well as experience working in law enforcement and court settings. They should also demonstrate experience assisting victims and witnesses, along with a solid understanding of victims’ rights and the services available to them.
High school diploma or GED and 4 years of related experience which may include roles in victim services or victim advocacy, such as serving as a victim/witness advocate.
Preferences:- Demonstrated experience delivering trauma-informed emotional, physical, financial, and practical assistance to crime victims.
- Proven experience and the ability to work effectively within a public safety environment.
- Experience supporting and assisting victims and witnesses of crime.
- Administrative experience with the ability to gather and compile data, analyze information, and prepare comprehensive reports.

Special Requirements :All employees considered for hire by the police department are subject to a polygraph examination and a thorough background investigation.
Work Schedule:Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm (may be flexible)
Starting Salary Range:$78,971.59 - $92,907.75 Annually
