About This Role
The Part‑Time Communication, Referral, Information, and Assistance (CRIA) Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking information regarding programs and services offered through the Prince William Area Agency on Aging. This position is responsible for responding to inquiries, initiating the needs assessment process, and providing accurate information and referrals to older adults, adults with disabilities, caregivers, and the general public.
This position also supports community engagement by making presentations, developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, to enhance awareness of available resources and improve service coordination across the aging network.
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 4 years of experience in the human services field, including any work related to identifying community resources and coordinating services.
Preferences- 5 years’ experience in working with older adults with disabilities
- 5 years’ experience with data entry
- A minimum of 1 year of community engagement and outreach experience
- Thorough knowledge of community resources and programs, including health information privacy and benefit programs
- Bilingual Speaker – (English/Spanish)
- Must pass criminal background check pursuant to VA Code Ann. 19-392-92 (2010) and the Older Americans Act of 1965 as amended in Section 701.
- Must pass DMV Record check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in first aid, CPR and AED.
- Must obtain CIRS‑A (Certified Information and Referral Specialist – Aging) from the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems, Inc. within the required guidelines. The agency will assist with this process.
- Must complete Uniform Assessment Instrument (UIA) Training.
- Mandated reporter of elder abuse.
- Background Checks, which may include but are not limited to:
Criminal History Check, Credit History Check, Education Verification Check, License Verification Check, and/or Fingerprinting, may be required as posted in the job advertisement.
Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekends and nights may be required (position is 25 hours per week). Some after‑hours may be required due to planned community events and requested presentations.
Starting Salary Range$33.80 - $43.80 Hourly
