Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Woodbridge, VA

Clinicians must be licensed and live in the state in which they will be practicing.

Compensation: Fee for Service (W2). Annual range $65,000–$94,000 based on 15–20 clinical hours per week.

Telemedicine patients are treated without a stimulant‑medication push. Clinician discretion determines prescribing; when symptoms exceed telemedicine limits, referral to an in‑person provider is made.

Clinicians assist a diverse population with mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. Practice primarily with adults and adolescents, with future expansion across age groups.

Qualifications
  • Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certification required
  • Master’s in Nursing with active prescriptive authority in the state required
  • Experience with AdvancedMD (AMD) EMR is a plus
  • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric practice required; 3 years of total experience is a plus
  • Completion of in‑house training on ADHD treatment standards, guidelines, and approach, followed by certification exam. New hires are enrolled in the ADHD Clinic; no prescribing quotas.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations in both in‑person and telemedicine settings
  • Treat clients 14 years old and up
  • Prescribe medication to reduce mental health symptoms as needed
  • Create and collaborate on care plans with clients
  • Complete and administer required paperwork and assessment tools
  • Adhere to Thriveworks' Clinical Practice Guidelines
  • Consult with Regional Clinic Directors and staff on client care, programs, and services
