The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is seeking qualified applicants to fill two (2) vacant Community Developer III positions, grade A-24. The incumbents will serve as the Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Officer within the Community Planning and Development Division. This is senior level professional work. Incumbents are responsible for development, administration, and monitoring of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity issues within the Department of Housing and Community Development.
The selected candidates prepare Fair Housing compliance monitoring reports that meet the required standards for file documentation; review rules and regulations to ensure that local, state and federal requirements are being implemented in accordance with required Fair Housing procedures; attend monitoring meetings as scheduled; review/prepare files and discuss non‑compliance with supervisor to establish agreed upon courses of action and use independent judgment and initiative to encourage affirmative fair housing efforts.
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology or Social Services; plus two (2) years of progressively responsible program coordination experience which includes implementing regulations for housing programs. Experience must also include communicating with the public and preparing reports/memorandums using desktop software applications. An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience of the type required of this position will be considered.

Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligibles which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
