Student Data System Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Student Data System Specialist. In this role, you will ensure the integrity of the student information system through the implementation of good data collection practices and active monitoring of the student information system. You will also be supporting various educational programs by collecting, managing, and analyzing student data and managing educational software effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to provide effective training to other staff members.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the District Director of Teaching and Learning, the Student Data System Specialist ensures the integrity of the student information system through the implementation of effective data collection practices, active monitoring of the student information system, upgrading and troubleshooting of data system software, and training of district staff.
Special Considerations:
Experience with relational databases and SQL, including querying, reporting, data validation, and troubleshooting; programming or scripting for automation, data transformation, validation, reporting or systems integration implementation, migration, or replacement of an enterprise information system, including data mapping, conversion testing and validation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent by OAR .
- 18 years of age or older.
- Experience working with a student information system.
Essential Functions:
Communicates effectively and appropriately in both oral and written form.Communicates effectively in Spanish or Russian (if assigned) in both oral and written form.Understand and follow oral and written instructions.Maintain a coherent student information system aligned to support the district mission, strategic objectives and the Curriculum Management Audit recommendations.Assesses the student information system to ensure building and district personnel have accurate student data.Provide staff development necessary to ensure ease of operation with the school administration and student information system.Provide regular written and oral communication with the district's Director of Teaching and Learning on the student information system.Communicate with the Director of Teaching and Learning and District Administrators regarding data needs and state reporting requirements and submissions.Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.Assess needs, develop plans and meet deadlines related to the student information system.Install and troubleshoot hardware and software packages related to the student information system.Assist district staff in the day-to-day use of district's student information system.Assist in the planning related to the use of the student information software.To assist in the identification of professional development needs of staff related to the use of the student information software.Support staff in the effective use of the student information system software.Regularly meet with secretaries and others to share information and provide assistance.Provide accurate and timely information and advice to staff on effective use of the student information system.Represent the district with other agencies and organizations with respect to the districts interest in the continuing development of the student information system.Identify new products and software which will enhance the current student information system and support future growth and accountability.Submits required reports to the state in an accurate and timely manner.Be accountable for actions and follow through on personal and professional goals.Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student and staff information.Follows all safety rules and takes all reasonable precautions to provide a safe and secure working environment.Demonstrates support for District Core Values, District Mission, District Strategic Plan.Collaborates and confers with students, parents, colleagues, and community members in a harmonious and respectful manner.Assists parents and community members as needed.Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural and multilingual values and environments.Complies with professional development activities as required by the District.Holds expectations for high performance of self and students.Demonstrates computer literacy and operates software programs as related to job responsibilities.Maintains accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law and District policy and regulations.Maintains the integrity of confidential information relating to a student, family, colleague, or district patron, and uses or relays academic, social, or personal information only in the course of performing assigned responsibilities and in the best interest of the individuals involved.Follows all laws,…
