Transit Bus Driver - Part-time, Woodburn
City of Woodburn is seeking a part-time Transit Bus Driver to operate the Woodburn Transit Service on weekends and limited weekday hours. This safety-sensitive role involves driving on a pre-determined schedule, ensuring safe and courteous service to passengers, and maintaining the vehicle’s cleanliness and operational readiness.
Schedule & HoursPart-time, up to 19 hours per week. Weekdays: 7:30 am - 10:00 am. Saturdays: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Sundays: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Responsibilities- Operate Woodburn Transit buses on designated routes, following all safety and operational regulations.
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers, offering assistance to seniors and people with disabilities.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, monitor vehicle condition, and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel, and passenger count.
- Represent the City professionally at all times.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year of experience operating a bus or transit van with a wheelchair lift, or equivalent training.
- Valid Oregon Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and air-brake endorsement.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Mandatory pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing (Federal Transit Administration regulations).
- Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
