Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Manager you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift, including cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations. You must set the example, follow all policy and procedures 100% of the time, and expect the same from crew.
Job Duties- Operate all equipment
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler
- Prepare product
- Receive and process telephone orders
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily
- Must be at least 18 years of age and able to drive a motor vehicle
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions, communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers, and process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / SkillsAccurate and quick arithmetic, correct monetary change, verbal, written, and telephone skills for order processing, motor coordination, and computer or touch‑screen entry.
Work Conditions- Exposure to varying weather when removing trash and other outside tasks
- In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas
- Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust
- Cramped quarters, hot surfaces up to 500°F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts
- Talking, hearing, near and mid‑range vision, depth perception required for most tasks
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make decisions
- Standing:
Most tasks are performed from a standing position with work surfaces 36–48" high - Walking:
Short distances for short durations - Sitting:
Paperwork typically completed at an office desk or table - Lifting:
Deliveries up to 50 lbs, stacked onto shelves up to 72" high - Carrying:
Large cans 3 lbs 7 oz; occasionally 30‑lb pizza sauce; trays of dough (~12 lbs each) - Pushing:
Trays on dollies (24–30") requiring up to 7.5 lb force - Climbing:
Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders - Bending:
Forward bending at waist, 30–45 sec at a time, repeated through day - Crouching / Squatting:
Occasional to stock shelves and clean low areas
Reaching – Continuous reaching in all directions, up to 72", down for small tasks, forward for ingredient retrieval and phone answering.
Hand Tasks – Continuous eye‑hand coordination, frequent use of forearms and wrists, necessary for dough shaping, peel use, rolling cutter, box assembly, and grasping cans, phones, cutters, and boxes.
Tools & Equipment – Use of pencils, pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and rolling cutter.
Delivery / Driver Duties- Deliver product by car to customer locations
- Distribute flyers and door hangers
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle
Navigational skills, reading maps, locating addresses within the delivery area, managing adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings and private homes, and carrying product while driving.
Delivery / Driver Physical Demands- Carrying: pizzas, sides, beverages during walking and climbing duties
- Driving:
Deliver pizzas within a designated area, typically multiple deliveries per shift - Walking:
Travel between store, vehicle, and customer locations - Climbing:
Potential navigation of five or more flights of stairs
Exposure to adverse weather during delivery, driving, and couponing. Far and night vision required for driving.
