a speech and language pathologist (slp) in region 14 school district works as an integral part of a larger team serving all students in the district. The slp brings their unique skills in the areas of targeted remediation, alternative approaches to instruction, expertise in issues concerning language development, and understanding of learning differences to bear in working to improve instructional outcomes for students.

In delivering services, the slp will focus on improving student performance and developing skills in students that will help them continue to maximize their potential. The slp utilizes interventions driven by a well-founded (e.g., data based, research supported) understanding of what is best for the student.
