General DutiesA Bethlehem Elementary School (BES) interventionist collaborates with classroom teachers and instructional leaders to support students in meeting grade level expectations in literacy and mathematics. Interventionists work with the instructional leaders to engage in data analysis and implement research-based lessons that meet the needs of the students assigned to their small groups for intervention. Interventionists are integral to continuous growth in student performance as we strive for excellence and engage students in productive struggle to support them in developing the habits of mind and foundational skills necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
MajorDuties/Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the literacy and math instructional leaders, provide research-based, targeted instruction for small groups of students needing additional support in the areas of literacy and math
- Monitor and assess students using provided lesson materials, formative and summative assessments, technology programs, and universal screeners
- Collect data and develop summary notes to share with classroom teachers and instructional leaders
- Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree or teaching certificate preferred
- 3 years of experience in related field preferred
- Ability to work with students
- Ability to follow directions
- Clear communication and collaboration skills
Averages 5.5 hours per day
170 days based on 10 days after the start of the school calendar
