POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking an experienced natural-stone professional who has worked as part of a trained crew unloading 20-foot ocean containers containing marble, granite, or quartzite slab bundles.

The Warehouse Associate plays a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our warehouse, with a focus on natural stone slab handling and container receiving
. This position is responsible for unloading, moving, staging, organizing, and storing large natural stone slabs and related materials using forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment.

This position participates in a rotating Saturday work schedule based on warehouse staffing and operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work as part of a trained crew to safely unload 20-foot ocean containers containing bundled marble, granite, quartzite, and other natural stone slabs.
  • Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other designated warehouse equipment to unload, move, stage, and store large stone slabs.
  • Follow established slab-handling procedures when lifting, separating, securing, and positioning bundled materials to prevent injury or product damage.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, verify quantities and receiving information, and report discrepancies.
  • Load and unload flatbed, box, and other delivery trucks while safely handling heavy, oversized, and fragile materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material locations and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Keep container receiving, slab storage, and general warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, equipment procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team members, supervisors, suppliers, and carriers to support efficient inbound and outbound operations.
  • Participate in the rotating Saturday schedule as assigned based on business and staffing needs.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience in a stone yard, distribution center, building materials environment, or similar setting.
  • Experience working as part of a trained crew unloading ocean containers containing natural stone slab bundles strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience operating forklifts to safely transport large, heavy, or oversized materials—not solely palletized freight.
  • Experience operating cranes or similar lifting equipment to safely move and position natural stone slabs or comparable oversized materials.
  • Experience loading and unloading flatbed or box trucks with heavy materials.
  • Previous experience with marble, granite, quartzite, natural stone, tile, or related building materials strongly preferred.
  • Forklift certification and applicable crane/rigging training or certification preferred, or ability to obtain required certifications upon hire.
  • Ability to work a rotating Saturday schedule as required.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of safe natural stone slab handling and container unloading practices.
  • Strong safety awareness when working around heavy equipment, suspended loads, and high-value materials.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a coordinated warehouse team.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting, receiving, staging, and storing materials.
  • Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and warehouse management systems.
