The YMCA Early Childhood Learning Center is seeking a Teacher’s Aide (age 16+) to join our Woodbury team. This part‑time Tuesday/Thursday role includes a free Y membership, professional growth opportunities, and more!

Part‑time;
Tuesday/Thursday, 8:45‑2:30. No evenings or weekend hours.

$16.00 hourly base, eligible for grant‑funded additional compensation (typically up to +$2/hr). Salary may vary based on background and experience; part‑time benefits will vary.

Under the direction of the Child Care Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director, the Teacher’s Aide provides support to the Child Care Teacher and Assistant Teacher in implementing childcare center programs. The incumbent assists with carrying out the childcare mission and values by providing high‑quality childcare services that focus on YMCA core values:

• Support the implementation of daily plans and activities.
• Maintain a positive classroom community.
• Supervise children and participate with children in activities.
• Contribute to activity preparation, clean‑up, and room maintenance.
• Maintain program site and equipment.
• Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health licensing for meals and snacks, if applicable.

The incumbent interacts regularly with children, parents, and staff members, assisting with supervision and engaging with a diverse group of parents, children, and staff.

• Minimum age of 16; preferred 18.
• Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.
• Strong commitment to quality child care.

• Commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and sincere desire to impact their lives.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to travel to other branches and programs.
• Must be flexible to work varying hours to meet the needs of the site.

• Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
• May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, feeding, and transportation.
• May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions, or bodily fluids as part of the child‑care environment.
