Position Summary
The Senior Network Architect is a strategic technical leader responsible for designing, engineering, and governing Voya’s enterprise network and datacenter architecture. The role blends deep hands‑on expertise with high‑level architectural vision across Azure cloud networking, Oracle OCI cloud networking, on‑prem datacenter infrastructure, routing and switching, SD‑WAN, security, and global connectivity.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain enterprise‑level network and datacenter architectures supporting hybrid cloud, multi‑region, and high‑availability environments.
- Architect Azure networking solutions including VNets, Express Route, vWAN, private endpoints, load balancers, and cross‑region connectivity.
- Design scalable routing and switching architectures using BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, and advanced datacenter fabric technologies.
- Lead SD‑WAN architecture and policy design across global sites.
- Plan and execute Megaport configuration to enable high‑performance connectivity.
- Define standards, reference architectures, and best practices for network and datacenter infrastructure.
- Apply advanced AWS networking concepts including VPC peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route
53, and Elastic Load Balancers. - Apply advanced Azure networking concepts including VNet design, Express Route, VPN Gateways, vWAN, NSGs, private endpoints, load balancing, and application gateways.
- Apply advanced OCI networking concepts including Virtual Cloud Networks, Dynamic Routing Gateways, Fast Connect, and Site‑to‑Site VPNs.
- Oversee the implementation of complex network solutions across cloud, datacenter, and edge environments.
- Provide escalation support for high‑severity incidents and advanced troubleshooting.
- Lead network modernization initiatives covering segmentation, Zero Trust, automation, and cloud migration.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to leadership, guiding network strategy, capacity planning, and technology roadmaps.
- Mentor engineering teams and govern architecture across projects.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with business and compliance requirements.
- Ensure network designs meet performance, availability, and security SLAs.
- Participate in DR/BCP planning and ensure network readiness for failover scenarios.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering and architecture.
- Expert‑level knowledge of routing, switching, and datacenter networking (BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, QoS, multicast).
- Deep Azure networking experience, including VNet design, Express Route, vWAN, NSG management, private endpoints, load balancing, and cross‑region connectivity.
- Strong experience with datacenter infrastructure, including spine‑leaf architectures, fabric technologies, and high‑availability design.
- Hands‑on experience with SD‑WAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, and Versa.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies (NGFW, segmentation, Zero Trust).
- Experience with automation and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Python) preferred.
- Proven ability to lead architectural discussions and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- CCIE (Routing & Switching, Enterprise Infrastructure, or Datacenter).
- Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ‑700).
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‑305).
- Additional vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet) are a plus.
Annual base salary range: $180,000–$190,000. Additional incentive opportunities and long‑term incentives may apply based on role and performance.
