This VP of Procurement role leads product procurement for a company operating in the food distribution industry, supporting supply to food service and retail customers. The position oversees vendor negotiations, inventory management, and purchasing department operations, and includes people leadership responsibility for a procurement team.
Compensation$110,000 to $135,000 per year, based on experience.
What You'll DoThe VP of Procurement manages all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers and vendors, and oversees the hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of procurement staff. This person manages inventory levels to support the company's financial position and service levels, negotiates vendor pricing and programs, and disposes of proprietary inventory tied to lost customers. The role also involves direct interaction with customers and vendors to resolve questions and maintain fill rate service standards, and includes responsibility for establishing procedures that improve the purchasing department's efficiency and productivity.
Depending on organizational structure, this role may also oversee marketing and merchandising functions.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 6 to 7+ years of experience in procurement or a related area, including supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience in procurement with supervisory or management experience in the food service industry
- $110,000 to $135,000 per year
