SummaryThe Designer Position will support utility project engineers and project managers in the planning, engineering, and design of electric distribution projects. Under the guidance of a PM and/or Engineer, the Designer will make site visits, take measurements, use structural programs, and utilize various utility programs and data centers in support of these projects, ensuring projects are designed to current utility, federal and state standards.
The role includes taking projects from inception (scope of work) through construction (as‑built). Site visits are required in the northern territory of Washington.
- Apply engineering and design methods to ensure quality deliverables for the customer.
- Conduct site visits, take measurements, and use utility programs and data centers to support project design.
- Identify the scope of an assigned project and decide on logical actions to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Facilitate communication between service providers and internal/external customers, including technical support for project managers.
- Respond to customer concerns and collaborate with appropriate parties for resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience managing multiple projects.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual skills across multiple technical areas.
- Knowledge of utility methods, techniques, and procedures involved in distribution design.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Customer‑oriented, collaborative attitude, flexibility, and understanding complex technical design plans.
- Designer: 0‑3 years of relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, design, or related discipline.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
