We are seeking a dependable, experienced HR Specialist to join our close‑knit team. We focus on practical solutions, strong performance, and supporting our business goals through efficient people management.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday standard business hours.
Must be available for on call responsibilities as needed.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 per year (depending on experience), plus competitive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) match, and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage employee relations issues with fairness, direct communication, and a focus on resolution and accountability.
- Administer benefits enrollment, payroll support, and compliance with federal/state employment laws (including accurate record‑keeping and policy enforcement).
- Support performance management: assist with reviews, goal setting, disciplinary processes, and documentation to drive results and maintain standards.
- Maintain HRIS systems, prepare reports on headcount, turnover, and metrics that matter to the business.
- Develop and update practical HR policies that align with company objectives and legal requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on day‑to‑day people matters, emphasizing merit, productivity, and mutual respect.
- 4+ years of hands‑on HR experience in a generalist or specialist role (mid‑to‑senior level preferred).
- In‑depth, working knowledge of federal and Washington state employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, wage/hour regulations) and a commitment to strict legal compliance without unnecessary overreach.
- Proven track record of handling sensitive issues with discretion, objectivity, and common sense.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines independently.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills: clear, direct, professional, able to document issues thoroughly, deliver straightforward feedback.
- Results‑oriented mindset: someone who measures success by tangible outcomes (e.g., low turnover in key roles, efficient hiring processes, compliant operations) rather than abstract initiatives.
- Reliable, self‑motivated professional with a strong work ethic, comfortable in a stable environment that rewards dependability and common‑sense judgment over constant change or experimentation.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM‑CP) is a plus but not required.
