Here is how you would contribute to Sierra’s team:

As the IT Assistant, you will work closely with the IT Manager resolving employee technical problems and responding to requests for all of Sierra Construction. You will be able to work diligently and will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to fix issues and ensure functionality for Sierra’s employees.

This will be an in-office, part-time role, approximately 20-24 hours per week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Help Desk support for all IT products and services including laptops, desktops, copiers, printers, cell phones, and internal telephone system. Support may include answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and teaching or instructing current and new employees
  • Verify that suggested solutions effectively resolve user’s problems through verbal or email follow up
  • Deliver, set up, and assist in the configuration of employees' computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
  • Perform PC hardware and software upgrades when necessary
  • Set up, configure and migrate users to new PCs when needed
  • Deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications
  • Set up job trailers
  • Assist with installation of local area network cabling and equipment
  • Ensure cabling and hardware is organized and installed correctly
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Prioritize, schedule and resolve IT activities. Escalate problems to IT Manager when needed
  • Assists in setting up/taking down equipment for Company Events
  • Maintain and set up conference rooms to ensure IT and Audio/Video equipment operates properly
  • Maintain IT documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Manager

Education, Experience, and Technology

Required:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and an excellent driving record
  • Experience with LAN/WAN networks
  • Experience with MDM software (JAMF)
  • Proficient in Office 365, Bluebeam, TCP/IP, FTP
  • Basic CMD knowledge
  • Proficient with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 11, and Windows Server 2019+
  • CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA A+ certifications are helpful
  • Some experience with Intune

The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, kneel; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, talk and hear. This position requires that the employee be able to drive vehicles to and from different locations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
