The Starting Hourly Rate is $20.25 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $20.25 USD - $30.40 USD per hour.

About On-Demand

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM). Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule.

An On-Demand TM is not included on the posted weekly schedule; instead you create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app that work best with your schedule.

Reliable and prompt attendance is required when you pick up a shift. You must respond to attempts to contact you to confirm your interest. Failure to respond or to work at least one shift within 5 months may result in termination.

Should you be offered a position, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule.

Service & Engagement

Advocates of guest experience welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, and store cleanliness. They provide both in-store and digital services to drive guest loyalty.

  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings, and services
Typical Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues for guests.
  • Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
  • Make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Know and explain the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed.
  • Describe using Wallet and other features in the Target App.
  • Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed to solve for the guest.
  • Partner with leaders to de-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
  • Deliver accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area and gather abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner, comply with all safety policies and best practices, and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, drive‑up orders, and returns while maintaining compliance with relevant laws.
  • Support Cash Office processes as needed, including management of cash systems.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.

  • You thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active, and physically demanding role where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key.
  • You are willing to work a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and peak shopping times).
  • Communicating effectively with positive language and attending to guest needs.
