Part Time - Art History Instructor

Overview

Position:
Part-time Lecturer, Art Department. The role involves delivering instructional lectures for Art courses and supporting department and college initiatives as desired.

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Art courses up to 10 hours per week.
• Organize and teach all levels of Art classes.
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
• Assess student learning outcomes every semester.
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.

• Master’s in art history, history of art and architecture, or visual culture/visual studies OR
• Bachelor’s in art history AND Master’s in history OR
• Master’s in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history OR
• The equivalent

• EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. • Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that demonstrates the ability to teach Art History to community college students.

• Experience with art history instruction for community college students is preferred.

• Salary details:
  Step 1: $1,586.89 per unit;
  Step 10: $2,657.77 per unit.
• Part-time positions less than 0.60 FTE are not entitled to District paid fringe benefits.
