Adjunct Administration of Justice Instructor

Location: Woodland Community College - Woodland, CA

Description of Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Division Dean, provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and governing board policies; evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters, develop and assess student learning outcomes, and perform other instructional duties as assigned. Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where diverse students can succeed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and instruct classes in Administration of Justice.
  • Provide effective classroom and laboratory instruction using methods and materials appropriate to the subject matter.
  • Promote and model professionalism as an educator and law enforcement professional; maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Comply with all institutional policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate student learning by using appropriate teaching methods.
  • Maintain currency and depth of knowledge in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.

Required Duties: Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Any associate degree and six years of full-time occupational experience in the related field OR
  • Any bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time occupational experience in the related field OR
  • The equivalent OR
  • Possess a California Community life credential in the subject matter area.
