Overview
The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Ethnic Studies. Applicants are recruited year‑round and remain active in the pool for two years.

Part Time - Ethnic Studies Instructor
Location:
Woodland Community College, Woodland, CA
- Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Ethnic Studies courses up to 10 hours/week.
- Organize and teach all levels of Ethnic Studies classes.
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, which may include distance learning.
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
- Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in African-American/Black/Africana Studies OR Bachelor’s degree in African-American/Black/Africana Studies AND Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies.
- Master’s degree in Asian American Studies OR Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies AND Bachelor’s degree in Asian American Studies.
- Master’s degree in Chicano Studies OR Ethnic Studies.
- Master’s in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American/American Indian Studies, or American Indian Studies OR Master’s in Ethnic Studies.
- Master’s degree in Native American/American Indian Studies OR Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies AND Bachelor’s degree in Native American /American Indian Studies.
- All applicants must meet minimum qualifications specified by the YBC District or have an equivalency determination.
- Possess a California Community Life credential in the subject matter area.
Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that demonstrates a clear ability to teach Ethnic Studies to community college students.
