Adjunct Physical Sciences/Geography/Geology Instructor

Yuba Community College District is accepting qualified applicants for possible temporary part‑time teaching assignments. These positions are filled based on the needs of the department and are ongoing recruitments.

Position Information

Job Title: Adjunct Physical Sciences/Geography/Geology Instructor

Location: Woodland Community College - Woodland, CA

Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Physical Sciences, Geography, or Geology courses up to 10 hours/week.
  • Organize and teach all levels of Physical Sciences, Geography, or Geology classes.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes each semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.

REQUIRED DUTIES:

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Geography
  • or Bachelor’s in Geography and
  • Master’s in Geology, History, Meteorology, or Oceanography
  • or the equivalent
  • or Interdisciplinary Studies
Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Physical Sciences, Geography, or Geology to community college students.
