POSITION SUMMARY:

* The position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional in the consulting engineering profession with a demonstrated record of success to make a difference to an established and growing firm. We are seeking someone with a solid background in water resources engineering, project management, and business development. The successful candidate must strive to solve problems and provide sound guidance to clients.

LSCE’s engineering team works collaboratively together on many projects; the successful candidate will be integrated into current project teams and assist in leading the engineering group. Our engineers are involved in a variety of projects and enjoy the opportunity to work on all aspects of projects from developing proposals, client interaction, design, construction management and permitting.

* WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES *(including but not limited to):

* Oversee and be in responsible charge of water resources engineering projects and business development.

* Seek business development opportunities including networking, grant funding opportunities, proposal writing, preparing scopes of work, project budgets, project management, and schedules.

* Prepare civil and mechanical designs for municipal drinking water infrastructure, agricultural water systems, and other water supply or injection systems.

* Prepare engineering designs, calculations and analysis of hydraulic systems for the design of well pumps, booster pumps, hydropneumatics tanks, storage reservoirs, groundwater/surface water treatment and process controls.

* Perform construction management, including meetings with contractors and clients, project schedule and budget management, requests for information and submittals, and conducting inspections.

* Perform well rehabilitation, including evaluation and diagnosis of water well problems, evaluation of well and pump efficiency, and a wide variety of rehabilitation programs to address such problems as sand production, biofouling, and adverse water quality impacts.

* Project management, project development and oversight, including technical review of work by others, mentoring and providing clear direction to support staff, collaboration with other professionals, and managing scopes, budgets and schedules across multiple projects.

* REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*:

* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or another appropriate engineering degree.

* Professional Civil Engineering License in California.

* Minimum 20 years of professional engineering experience in water resources and consulting.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong technical knowledge and background in water resources, fluid and porous media mechanics, well design and rehabilitation, and consulting.

* Ability to manage staff, competing priorities, and project deadlines.

* Proven record of business development in both competitive and non-competitive settings.

* Highly motivated, possesses strong critical thinking and management skills.
