Associate Civil Engineer Or Senior Civil Engineer

The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one (1) regular, full-time position in the class of Associate Civil Engineer OR Senior Civil Engineer in the Integrated Waste Division at the Department of Community Services. The position focuses on preparing plans, specifications, estimates, and reports; assisting with construction oversight and contract administration; and coordinating with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies to support capital projects and day-to-day landfill operations.

The ideal candidate is a skilled civil engineering professional with experience in solid waste, environmental, or public infrastructure engineering. They possess a strong understanding of engineering principles and regulatory requirements and have experience supporting or managing projects in a regulated environment, with the ability to apply technical knowledge to real-world landfill operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects.

This individual is a collaborative and effective communicator who works well with multidisciplinary teams, including operations staff, engineers, consultants, regulatory agencies, and the public. They demonstrate strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, contribute to technical problem-solving, and support project delivery. A successful candidate is committed to public service and environmental stewardship and will support Yolo County's mission by helping ensure landfill operations and infrastructure projects protect public health and safety while maintaining compliance and promoting long-term sustainability.
