Position Summary
The County of Yolo is recruiting for a full‑time Associate Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer in the Integrated Waste Division at the Department of Community Services. Depending on experience and qualifications, the selected candidate will be hired at either the Associate (B.S. in civil engineering, 3 years of experience, California license) or Senior (B.S. in civil engineering, 5 years of experience, California license) classification.
Responsibilities- Support operations and improvements at the Yolo County Landfill, including infrastructure systems such as drainage, roadways, and environmental controls.
- Prepare plans, specifications, estimates, and reports for capital and day‑to‑day operations.
- Assist in construction oversight, contract administration, and coordination with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- For Senior Civil Engineers:
Lead and manage engineering projects and programs; oversee design and delivery of complex infrastructure and capital improvement projects; review and approve engineering work; manage consultants; and provide technical direction to staff.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. - Experience:
Three (3) years as a registered civil engineer. - Certification:
Valid California State Board of Registration civil engineer license. - Driver’s License:
California Class C or higher.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. - Experience:
Five (5) years as a registered civil engineer. - Certification:
Valid California State Board of Registration civil engineer license. - Driver’s License:
California Class C or higher.
