NOW HIRING: IT Specialist (Data Engineer)

We're looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure for collecting, storing, and transforming raw data into accessible, usable information for data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders across CMS.

Salary: $108,173 - $158,322/year (varies by location)

Locations: Woodlawn, MD | Kansas City, MO | Philadelphia, PA | Dallas, TX | Seattle, WA (Telework eligible)

What you'll do:
  • Direct the architectural vision and establish enterprise standards for robust data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and systems managing massive volumes of healthcare data
  • Serve as the technical authority in developing data storage solutions optimized for performance, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness
  • Partner with cybersecurity leadership to author and enforce data protection regulations, access controls, audit trails, and retention policies
  • Design enterprise disaster recovery and backup protocols to guarantee uninterrupted data availability
  • Architect complex, enterprise‑spanning automated pipelines to integrate, transform, and sanitize data from disparate sources into centralized repositories
What we need:
  • Experience designing enterprise‑scale data infrastructure (databases, data warehouses, cloud‑based storage) for large‑scale analytics
  • Background building automated ETL/ELT data pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalability
  • Experience developing disaster recovery and backup protocols for enterprise data systems
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership to define data engineering standards and align solutions with strategic goals
