Join the Center for Program Integrity as a Data Scientist leading cross-functional teams to build data-driven solutions that detect fraud, waste, and abuse across Medicare and Medicaid. At CMS, you'll develop analytical models and algorithms that protect billions in healthcare spending for 150+ million Americans. Your models could stop fraud before it impacts millions.

- Serve as a data advisor within the division, collecting and analyzing specialized data such as website analytics, marketing data, consumer research, demographics, and economic trends.
- Identify and use internal and external data sources, manage the full systems development life cycle (SDLC), and design features supporting data access, integration, and retention.
- Prepare and present complex technical findings, reports, and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior officials and external stakeholders.
- Lead or support cross-functional teams of federal staff and contractors to build data-driven solutions for CMS program and business challenges.
Education required:
Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or directly related field (or qualifying combination of education and experience).
- Experience developing and applying analytical models or algorithms using advanced programming languages to detect fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Background communicating highly technical analytical findings to multiple audiences through written reports or oral presentations.
- Experience providing advice to management on establishing or enhancing procedures for data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

Pay range and compensation packageSalary: $119,630 - $158,322/year (varies by location).
