Enterprise Mobile Application Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Mobile Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for the Social Security Administration. This role requires deep expertise in native and cross‑platform mobile development, with the ability to integrate modern mobile solutions with legacy COBOL and Java backend systems.

Woodlawn, MD — on-site, 5 days per week

• Design and develop native iOS applications using Swift and Swift
  
  UI.
• Develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Build cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native and Flutter, with backend integration to legacy COBOL and Java systems.
• Collaborate with backend teams to build RESTful APIs or Graph
  
  QL endpoints that interact with legacy systems.
• Design API gateways to expose COBOL and Java services to modern mobile platforms.
• Write reusable, clean, and modular code for React Native and Flutter to ensure efficient cross‑platform development.
• Work with native modules when necessary for integrating mobile‑specific features not available in cross‑platform libraries.
• Partner with UI/UX teams to implement intuitive and responsive designs that align with mobile platform guidelines.
• Ensure UI responsiveness and consistency across both iOS and Android devices.
• Use performance profiling tools (Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler) to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Apply best practices for memory management and application performance optimization.
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and robustness.
• Implement automated testing for mobile applications using frameworks such as Jest, XCTest, or Flutter Test.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or Bitrise to automate builds, testing, and deployment.
• Implement secure communication protocols (HTTPS), OAuth authentication, and data encryption.
• Ensure mobile applications comply with applicable security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

• Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or 18+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience with at least 2 of the following technologies:
  Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, Vue 3.
• Experience with legacy system integration and API development.
• Proficiency with version control, cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and testing/debugging tools.
• Experience as a cross‑platform mobile developer.
• Experience collaborating with UI/UX design teams.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD, 5 days per week.

• Experience with Swift/Swift
  
  UI, Xcode, Cocoa Pods, and iOS frameworks (UIKit, Core Data, etc.).
• Experience with App Store deployment and App Store Connect.
• Expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for native Android development.
• Familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, and Firebase.
• Experience developing cross‑platform mobile apps using Flutter and Dart.
• Strong knowledge of state management in Flutter (Provider, Riverpod).
• Experience with Redux for state management and React Navigation within mobile apps.
• Familiarity with Vuex for state management and Vue Router for routing.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with cross‑functional teams.
