Comprehensive Benefits PackageSterling Engineering is hiring a Controller for a well-established, family-owned manufacturing company seeking a hands‑on financial leader to oversee all accounting operations and partner closely with executive leadership. You'll lead a small accounting team while driving financial accuracy, process improvements, and sound business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor the accounting department while overseeing daily financial operations
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and management reports
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting
- Coordinate year‑end audits and partner with external auditors and tax professionals
- Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve accounting processes
- Provide financial analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements
- Utilize SAP ERP and advanced Excel reporting tools to support financial decision‑making
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent professional experience
- Must have 5+ years of Controller or senior‑level accounting experience
- Previous experience leading or supervising an accounting team
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices
- Hands‑on experience using SAP ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial reporting
