Lead Project Delivery Engineer (Water Resources)
Job InformationSalary Range: $101,490 - $137,380

Primary RoleThis position plans, coordinates and directs resources for the delivery of capital projects in the Northern Divisions of Illinois that deliver nearly $40 million in engineering‑lead water and wastewater projects annually. It also involves regulatory compliance projects and acquisition due‑diligence.
Key Accountabilities- Monitor and manage budgets and schedules for medium‑to‑small Capital Investment Projects and programs.
- Drive efficiency in project delivery through monitoring of delivery metrics and pursue more effective procurement approaches.
- Deliver assigned Capital Projects in accordance with CIM system policies and procedures.
- Ensure asset owner satisfaction according to the scope of work agreed upon.
- Coordinate with Operations personnel for operational impacts related to project delivery.
- Collaborate with Technical Services functions regarding standards and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory criteria, specifications, and standards; coordinate land acquisition, easements, rights‑of‑way, permits, certificates, and other approvals.

- Financial analysis skill, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge.
- General knowledge of engineering, project management, construction practices related to water‑resources facilities.
- Knowledge of current water‑quality, treatment, and regulatory developments.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to water quality and design.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 13 years of experience in project delivery of major water‑resources projects.
- Advanced degrees or certifications may substitute for experience.
Periodic travel with overnight stays required; up to 20%.
Certifications & Licenses- Engineer‑in‑training (EIT) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
Primarily office with occasional local and overnight field work.
