Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000

Job Information

Base salary range represents a good faith estimate. Eligible for annual incentive pay. Primary Role

The Sr Manager, Engineering Project Delivery is responsible for supervising a functional Engineering, Project Management and/or Construction staff and managing and coordinating several Capital Investment project activities related to Production, Networks, and/or other water resource or operations systems.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supervise a staff of Engineers and Project Managers for monitoring and managing budgets and schedules for Capital Investment Projects and programs of varying scope and complexity.
  • Drive efficiency into project delivery through the development and monitoring of delivery metrics (unit costs, target costs vs actual, etc.) and pursuit of more effective delivery and procurement approaches.
  • Deliver select Capital Projects.
  • Oversee procedural compliance related to all project delivery within a set geographic region or for a specific asset class, ensuring delivery meets operational needs and complying with regulatory criteria, specifications and standards.
  • Interact with Operations staff to ensure program meets operational needs and coordinate on operational impacts related to project delivery.
  • Serve as a first line of defense to ensure project delivery procedural compliance and obtain necessary permits, certification and approvals from governmental agencies.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Sound knowledge of Engineering, Project Management and construction management practices related to planning, design, construction and operation of water resource facilities and utility economics and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, motivate, develop and direct skilled teams to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, persuasion and the ability to influence functional and cross‑functional peers.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Internal consulting skills, e.g., technical, analytical, problem solving, etc. Computer literacy; competent in word processing, spreadsheet, flow‑charting and project scheduling.
  • Financial analysis skill, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge.
Experience/Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Advanced Degree preferred. Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • 12+ years’ experience in the Engineering function of a large organization. Experience with water or wastewater utility is preferred.
  • 3+ years direct supervision of engineering staff and/or direct management responsibility for teams delivering engineering projects and/or technical services.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Professional Engineer (PE) required
Travel Requirements

Periodic travel with overnight stays required. Approximately 10% of total time is anticipated away from the office.

Work Environment

Primarily office with occasional local and overnight work in the field.
