Delivery Manager – Warehouse Execution & Automation Delivery Manager
Numina Group is a fast-growing technology company based in Woodridge, IL, specializing in cutting-edge warehouse automation solutions. We design and implement intelligent systems that streamline order fulfillment operations for some of the largest brands in logistics and distribution.
Job Overview:The Numina Group is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager specializing in warehouse
execution and controls to lead the successful design and delivery of complex automation
solutions.
This role sits squarely between warehouse operations and software/controls engineering.
The Delivery Manager is accountable for translating real-world pick, pack, and ship
execution requirements into precise, buildable software and controls specifications and
ensuring those designs succeed in live operations.
This is not a traditional project management role. It requires deep fluency in warehouse
operations, execution-level system behavior (WES/WCS), and the ability to surface and
resolve the hidden complexity that emerges at go-live.
Summary:
As a Delivery Manager, you will:
- Act as the primary translator between operations, software engineers, and controls
teams - Design and govern order release, picking, packing, and shipping execution logic
- Own the definition, validation, and delivery of warehouse execution workflows
- Lead solution delivery through go-live and stabilization, ensuring measurable
operational success
You will be accountable not only for delivery, but for ensuring the system behaves
correctly under real operating conditions, including meeting rate, handling exceptions
and peak volumes.
Execution & Requirements Leadership
- Lead definition of warehouse execution requirements across order release, picking,
induction, put, pack, ship, and exception handling - Translate operational workflows into clear, unambiguous functional specifications
for WES/WCS and application software teams - Define system states, transitions, ownership boundaries, and recovery logic so
Engineers can implement deterministic behavior - Ensure requirements explicitly address capacity constraints, flow control,
prioritization, and exception paths
- Serve as the single point of accountability between warehouse operations, software
engineers, controls engineers, and system integrators - Identify where operational intent conflicts with technical constraints and drive
alignment using data, tradeoffs, and system design principles - Guide engineers unfamiliar with warehouse environments by grounding decisions in
physical flow, human behavior, and equipment realities
- Lead cross-functional delivery teams to ensure execution logic is implemented as
designed - Own go-live readiness including:
o Execution flow validation
o Exception and recovery testing
o Operator workflows and training alignment - Remain accountable through stabilization, ensuring throughput, accuracy, and
service-level objectives are achieved - Define operational acceptance criteria and KPIs (throughput, cycle time, exception
rates) tied directly to execution logic - Ensure systems are instrumented to provide visibility into execution performance
- Drive continuous improvement by translating post-go-live feedback into system
enhancements
- Act as a trusted advisor to client leadership on execution design tradeoffs and
automation strategy - Partner with sales and leadership to shape future engagements based on deep
execution expertise - Contribute to Numina design standards and delivery best practices
Experience:
Required Experience
- 5+ years designing and delivering warehouse automation or execution systems
involving picking, packing, and shipping flows - Demonstrated experience translating warehouse operational requirements into
software and controls logic - Hands‑on involvement in WES, WCS, or execution-layer software implementations
- Proven ownership of go-live and stabilization for automated warehouse systems
Core Competencies - Deep understanding of:
o Pick methodologies (batch, zone, G2P, G2M)
o Put walls, pack stations, induction, sortation
o Order release and prioritization strategies - Ability to think in states, events, and exceptions, not just process diagrams
- Strong communication skills with both:
o Warehouse operators and leaders
o Software and controls engineers
- Engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent hands‑on technical experience
- Experience documenting:
o Functional specifications
o Interface control documents
o Execution workflows and exception logic - Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000
- Health, dental, and vision insurance

- Paid time off
