Material Handler, General Labor, Forklift Operator, Operations Engineer
Material Handler locates and loads by hand and with non-motorized equipment customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks and shelves. Counts, weighs and records the number of units of materials handled. Completes specialized order processing for loading by stenciling, shrink wrapping, labeling and consolidating as required on order. Prepares trailers prior to loading product by inspecting and cleaning as needed to ensure product preservation.
Assists in building and grounds maintenance. Assists in physical inventories.
- Pulling Orders: Accurate location and loading by hand and with non motorized equipment. Count, weigh and record units on daily production sheet. Complete specialized order processing.
- Loading & Unloading: Remove samples, label them, transport to laboratory. Load orders according to the Loading Diagram or instructions, complete appropriate paperwork including Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit and Lot Verification. Unload, move, stack and stage customer products.
- Operating & Maintenance - Equipment and Grounds: Daily inspect, repair or adjust tow-motor vehicles. Prepare trailers by inspecting and cleaning. Assist in building and grounds maintenance.
- Reports: Complete activity and statistical reports. Assist in physical inventories.
- Miscellaneous: Provide services such as housekeeping, assembling crates, moving loose materials. Participate in Safety and 5S.
- Apply APL Logistics Continuous Improvement model for operational efficiency.
- Apply 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility.
- Meet and occasionally exceed company standards for safety, food safety, sanitation, quality, productivity and customer service.
- 1-2 years of warehouse or related work experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to operate non-motorized equipment, conveyor systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
- Ability to write legibly and basic math skills.
- Attention to detail, professional and positive communication, English language skills.
- Team player.
- Knowledge of distribution and warehousing preferred.

Hourly wage: $20.00.
